Prior to Fleet, David has enjoyed running a number of successful sales teams, demonstrating that by empowering, trusting and supporting the teams they will deliver outstanding results for our customers and the business.

About: Steve has over 25 years’ experience in financial services, having started out as a mortgage broker in the early 1990’s. He was Head of Commercial Development with Sesame Bankhall Group for 8 years, prior to joining Hodge Lifetime as Business Development Director in 2016. Steve joined Fleet Mortgages in November 2018 looking after the sales and marketing functions as well as leading Fleet’s relationship strategy with key intermediary partners.


Graham Le Bas

About: Graham has over 30 years’ experience working for retail banking and finance companies culminating in his current position as National Sales Manager. Prior to joining Fleet, Graham was the BDM for CHL Mortgages for 7 years. Grahams lending experience has been in both personal finance and in the last 14 years in the specialist Buy to Let sector.


Andy Valvona

About: Andy has over 30 years Business Development and National Account Management experience in the Intermediary Mortgage Market, with Lenders, Networks and FS Technology companies, having previously been a Branch Manager in retail banking. Andy’s lending experience has been with both specialist and Buy To Let lenders, where he was involved when BTL first came to the market in the 1990s.

About: Chris has worked in Financial Services for over 10 years, he has extensive experience of Mortgage lending having been an adviser and held an underwriting mandate. With his background in mortgages and his desire to help intermediaries provide an excellent service to their customers, Chris enjoys nothing more than meeting with brokers and providing solutions to their customers’ BTL needs.

Josh Parker

About: Josh joined Fleet Mortgages in December 2018 after spending almost 6 successful years with a specialist lender in the later life lending market. He successfully completed his CeMAP & CeRER qualifications and hopes to also complete his final DipFA exam in the next few weeks. Josh has a wealth of knowledge and experience and is responsible for developing new and existing relationships in South Wales and the South West. Fleet Mortgages is run by one of the most experienced management teams in UK lending and is led by Bob Young as Chief Executive Officer. Bob was previously Managing Director of Buy to Let lender, CHL Mortgages, and he brings with him a core group of ex-CHL management and staff.

Bob Young, was formerly Managing Director of CHL Mortgages for 10 years having previously operated as its Sales and Marketing Director from 1997. During this period CHL Mortgages transformed from a small, single product lender into a key player in the Buy-to-Let and Specialist Home Loan sectors and became a top twenty lender. Under Bob, CHL Mortgages grew significantly also originating commercial loans.


Previously Bob has worked as a Senior Manager with Black Horse, Abbey National and as a Business Consultant with a variety of blue chip financial services providers in a range of areas from strategy, sales and marketing to operations. Bob’s philosophy is very simple, ‘any idiot can lend money badly and lose money – and lots of people do!’

Sunny spent over 14 years with CHL Mortgages. He has extensive experience at board level in both commercial and operational finance roles having served as Finance Director, Head of Finance, Treasury & Securitisation and Chief Accountant at CHL. Sunny oversees all financial aspects of the business and is responsible for the effectiveness and integrity of Fleet Mortgages’ financial planning, control and reporting.


Sunny was previously Group Financial Controller and Finance Director at Kestrel Holdings, a private equity-backed financial services business. He is ACA qualified and was an auditor with Ernst & Young, Blick Rothenberg and Credito Italiano International.

Mike is a Senior Operational/IT Director with wide financial services experience acquired in various cross-company Operational, Change Management and IT roles, spanning a career of 30 years in both Retail and Finance companies. Originally trained in large scale building society banking and lending he moved onto various management operational roles within financial third-party administration. Having come back into front line operational management, Mike was also at the forefront of implementing technological solutions as IT became more prevalent in the industry. Having completed almost 19 years with CHL, Mike has overall responsibility for IT in both system maintenance and software development.

Keith is a Senior Operational/Programme Director with wide banking and finance experience acquired in various Operational, Change Management and IT roles, spanning a career of 35 years in various retail banks and finance companies. Originally trained and qualified in retail branch banking and lending Keith moved through various operational roles from managing branches to large scale centralised mortgage and finance company operations. As technology played an increasingly more significant role in operational effectiveness, he moved into a Board position at Wagon Finance that included responsibility for change management which led to a Divisional Board position within First National’s Business Finance Division as IT Director. Previously responsible for CHL’s Arrears Collection and Asset management functions, Keith undertook both business consultancy and change management roles in his 10 years at CHL.

As a risk professional, Jannie has spent the last 14 years working with credit institutions and consultancy firms in Africa, Europe and the United Kingdom. As a credit analyst, he has played a leading role in the development of risk management solutions for the banking and retail credit markets. During his time in South Africa he worked with three of the four major retail banks and a number of retail credit firms. Having completed his three-year MBA in 2002 he relocated to the UK. Jannie joined Experian where he led various strategic reviews and risk management projects for UK and European clients. In 2006 he took up a seat in the senior management team of CHL as the Head of Credit Risk.

Philip is a qualified solicitor and has been the principal of Slater Rhodes, exclusively working for clients in the financial services sector, for seven years. Previously he was a director of So Simple Mortgages Limited, a directly authorised mortgage brokerage. Philip set up that firm after leaving a top 60 law firm where he had been for 16 years and where he was a full equity partner. Philip has written extensively on mortgage compliance issues, including a regular column in Lending Strategy, and is co-author of Mortgage Regulation for Intermediaries and Butterworth’s Guide to the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000 (2nd edition). Philip joined Fleet Mortgages after working with the management team as an adviser to CHL.
